Mistress Shari gave me a present of paper dolls. But these are magnetic. Paper dolls get ruined so easily but these are hard plastic and will last forever! I have maybe 50+ pieces of dresses, shoes, accessories and many many more! These are just some quick examples. Aren't they pretty?
I love dressing up the 3 girls in the set and then having an adventure together. The next time I play dress-up dollies I will write a story to go along with the girls!
From Mistress Shari:
These are for pre-school little girls. Ages 3-5. The magnetic parts adhere to the doll easily and are durable, compared to paper doll clothing. Not only are the magnetic backed wooden parts long lasting, but they are much easier for little hands to manipulate and thus do not cause the frustration. I remember being in tears as a child when my paper dolls tore, and these paper dolls required adult assistance to play with at a young age. Annie is a toddler/pre-school age so these are perfect for her!
Why do girls like paper dolls?
Paper dolls have been used for advertising, appeared in magazines and newspapers, and covered a variety of subjects and time periods. Over the years, they have been used to reinforce cultural beliefs regarding the appearance of ideal women.
It's interesting to watch sissy annie play with "paper" dolls. She loves pretty dresses and gowns more than everything else girls and women wear. If there are slacks or pants in the set she will never put them on her dolls! It's all about looking pretty, cute, adorable and feminine to sissy Annie.
